How much do innorealize services cost?

Membership is free which allow you to Post tech offers and request, search for partners and comment new posts at no cost. Just in case that you need advanced functionalites, as making your offers or request anonymous among others, you may use our premium service at a 7€ fare each 6 months.

What services are provided in innorealize?

Technology request management, Technology Offer management, Innovation Challenge management, Partner search for R&D collaborative grants.

How are offers, requests and grants data managed in Innorealize?

Members should be aware that Innorealize aims to promote scientific and technical collaborations among its members. Therefore, you should be aware that all information provided by you in offers, requests, grants, publications, patents, and comments may be disseminated in Innorealize. Please check special conditions for challenges.

How is personal data managed in Innorealize?

Members should be aware that Innorealize aims to promote scientific and technical collaborations among its members. This may require that some information about your background, skills, contact data (email and address) and interests may be available for other partners.

Can I make my offers, requests and grants anonymous?

Only upgraded subscriptors can publish anonymously.

What is a technology request?

A technology request is a description of a technological need which is submitted by a requestor to solve a specific issue regarding a product or a process.

Who can submit technology requests?

Anybody who registers in Innorealize as a scientist or as a company can submit requests.

How can technology requests help you?

By submitting a request you enter a network of suitable innovation partners that could contact you and help you address your technological need.

How do you engage with a technology request creator?

You can either send an expression of interest for a specific request or you can directly contact creator by upgrading your subscription and have access to all request creator personal data.

Are there any legal implications?

A technology offer is a description of a product or service which is submitted by a requestor to attract potential partners.

How do you engage with a technology offer creator?

GRANTS

What is a grant proposal in Innorealize?

Public grants supporting R&D efforts often require the joint participation of several complementary partners to address the scientific and technological challenges of a concrete project. Grants service provides you the opportunity to find the partners which can contribute to make your grant proposal more competitive.

Who can publish grant proposals?

Anybody who registers in Innorealize as a scientist or as a company can publish grant proposals.

Why would you want to publish a grant proposal in Innorealize?

Most available grants require a certain level of resources to compete. By submitting a grant in Innorealize you are actively looking for opportunities to build research with support from various sources.

How do you engage with a grant creator?

You can either send an expression of interest for a specific grant or you can upgrade your subscription and have access to all offer grant personal data.

PATENTS

What do we mean by patents in Innorealize?

A patent is a grant made by a specific authority to make use or sell a specific product for a set period of time. This is a service that allows scientists to disseminate general aspects of their patents applications.

Who can publish a patent?

Anybody who registers in Innorealize, as a scientist or as a company, can submit disseminate their patents.

Why would you want to publish a patent in Innorealize?

By submitting a patent in Innorealize you only publish a generic high-level description to be shared to all members of the Innorealize community, thereby making easier to disseminate your fields of interest and increasing your chances to find the rights partners within our community.so it's only for advertising purposes only and to attract also potential partners.

How is confidentiality protected when you publish a patent?

PUBLICATIONS

What do we mean by publications in Innorealize?

This is a service that allows scientists to disseminate general aspects of their publications.

Who can disseminate a publication within Innorealize?

Only scientists can disseminate their patents.

Why would you want to publish your publications in Innorealize?

By submitting a publication in Innorealize you only disseminate a generic high-level description to be shared to all members of the Innorealize community in order to make easier to other users to know your fields of interest and to increase your chances to find the right partners.

How is confidentiality protected when you publish a patent?

PROFILES

What is a profile in Innorealize?

A profile is a record created in Innorealize which contains all public and private relevant data that each Innorealize member wants to expose to the rest of the Innorealize community.

Who can create a profile?

When you register in Innorealize a profile is created automatically. It's up to each member to update the profile information as much as required.

Who can see my profile?

Anybody can see the public part of your profile. Personal your contact data can only be accessed by members who have requested a subscription update.

How do I update my profile?

All profile fields can be updated from your personal area, once you have registered in the tool.

How does my profile relate to my public Linkedin profile?

When you register by using your Linkedin profile your public profile data available in Linkedin will be transferred to your Innorealize profile so it's visible to all Innorealize members.

 

TOPICS

What are topics? how can I can I search on a specific topic?

Topics are specific keywords to conduct searches on tech requests, offers, grants, challenges, etc.

How can I create a new topic?

When submitting any data object in Innorealize you are given the chance to create your own topics associated to that data object, such as requests, offers, grants, challenges, etc.

PRIVATE AND PUBLIC AREA

What is the scientist or company private area?

Once you register in Innorealize, as a scientist or as a company, immediately you are assigned to a private area to create and manage all your personal data objects.

What are the feed entries on the scientist or company private area?

All data objects createdoffers, requests, challenges and grants published by any Innorealize member in Innorealize are reflected in the scientist or company private area.

Who can see my comments?

Your comments are visible for all Innorealize members and visitors who have not registered.

Can I write comments anonymously?

Innorealize offers the opportunity to register using a nick name to preserve privacy. All comments and data objects created will then be signed by that nick name.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Are all services offered for free?

All basic services offered by Innorealize are for free, but upgrading your subscription will give you access to all members personal data.

What is possible when I upgrade my subscription?

By upgrading you have total Access to all members personal and contact data for a period of 6 months.

How do I deactivate a subscription?

You delete the subscription from your Paypal account.

 

1.1 CHALLENGES

What is a challenge?

A challenge is a request for innovative ideas and/or concepts launched through innorealize.com by a company.

What is the purpose of a challenge?

To leverage from our network of scientists any ideas, solutions & knowledge that could address your company’s innovation needs.

Why it could work?

Because there are solvers who may be willing to transfer their knowledge and expertise in exchange of a price as well as it is likely that companies are willing to pay an award instead of holding certain IP rights over that knowledge/expertise.

How can challenges help my company with its innovation projects?

This can be done by:

  • Providing your company with the opportunity to reach a worldwide scientist network
  • Giving your company a general overview of the state-of-the-art
  • Saving costs in the technology scouting process

I am a scientist. Why should I be interested in challenges?

Challenges are designed to connect companies and solvers. By participating in a challenge you may:

  • Monetize your knowledge, inventions or patents, while you are still protecting your IP rights
  • Be aware of the innovation needs that companies have in each field
  • You can earn money by suggesting the right solver

What types of challenges are there?

Innorealize offers two types of challenges: Ideation and pre-competitive, please click on types of challenge to understand the difference.

How do challenges work?

  • The company sets up the challenge conditions: Type of challenge, award, deadline, scope and desired outcomes and the legal specific conditions of the challenge.
  • The solver evaluates that the conditions set up by the company are interesting and decides if it is worth the effort to submit a solution
  • All received solutions are evaluated by the company, which and decides what solution is selected.
  • The selected solution wins an award

How do solvers and companies communicate with each other after a solution is submitted?

You will be notified about the status of your submission. You as a solver also give permission to company to contact you. There is always an option to send messages to Innorealize to mediate between both parties.

Who set ups the award amount?

The company (as The Challenger). All companies should be aware that the IP conditions should be balanced with the award amount; otherwise they face the risk of not receiving high quality proposals.

How will the IP conditions look like?

Innorealize has designed several legal agreements that will set forth the IP conditions of the challenge. Please, see the IP policy and the IP issues FAQs section.

I am a company. May I be helped in defining and writing the challenges?

Our team has an extensive experience in open innovation issues. You can reach us through your company area and we will help your organization in setting the challenge up.

I am a solver. May I be helped in writing the solutions?

Our team has an extensive experience in open innovation issues. You can reach us through your solver area and we will help you in writing the solution down.

1.2 SOLVERS

Who can be solvers?

Any individual who has an extensive background and/or expertise in specific technical or scientific areas. The solver can be a scientist, an engineer, a PhD, etc.

I am solver. Why should I be interested in challenges?

The challenges are designed to connect companies and solvers. By participating in a challenge you may:

  • Monetize and exploit your knowledge, inventions or patents, while you are still protecting your IP rights
  • Be aware about the innovation needs that companies have in each field
  • Start long term collaboration with the companies that launch challenges

What could I obtain if I submit a winner solution?

You will receive the award and you will retain your IP rights under the conditions set up in each challenges. See Terms of use.

How much will I be paid if my solution is chosen as winner?

You will receive the agreed award amount after fees and taxes are set aside. Please see our pricing FAQs

May I ask for further clarifications on the challenges?

Once you have registered as a solver or as a company, you will be able to communicate with innorealize.com and submit as many question as you may consider necessary.

What happens if I submit a non-winner solution?

All information included in solutions that are not selected will be destroyed and will not be used by both innorealize.com and the Challenger Company.

I disagree with the decision of the company on the solution selected. May I do something about it?

Companies are not obliged to modify their decisions on the selected solutions; Therefore, no redress procedure will be followed for the non-selected solutions.

Why would the company be interested in releasing the award if I do not lose my IP rights?

Normally, you will be requested to grant a royalty-free, perpetual and non-exclusive license to use any information included in the solution which ensures the companies are interested in complying with the terms of the Challenges and the website.

How can I be sure that I will not lose any IP rights or that the solutions are not properly used?

Both solvers and companies will be bound by the legal conditions set up in the terms of use See Terms of use and in the challenge Specific Conditions. Any irregular activity that may derive from a malicious use of Innorealize services will be addressed through the suitable legal channels.

What do I need to become a solver?

Basically you need to have the motivation to make a difference. If you think a challenge is for you, go to Register Solver, fill in your initial data and submit your solution.

1.3 COMPANIES

How can challenges help my company with its innovation projects?

Who sets up the challenge conditions?

Companies are free to establish their specific conditions in any challenge. Nevertheless, innorealize.com can provide, if required, advice and guidelines for writing and defining the challenges.

How can my company define the total award amount?

Innorealize.com recommends that the total award amount should be aligned with the novelty of the solution, the potential market upside of the solution and with the conditions (Especially the IP conditions) set up in the Consortium Specific Agreement.

What does my company obtain by releasing a challenge?

You will be normally granted with a royalty-free, perpetual and non-exclusive license to use any information included in the solution.

Who evaluates the solutions?

Thecompany. Nevertheless, innorealize.com will filter those solutions r that do not meet the minimal criteria to be considered as valid solutions.

What are these minimal criteria?

All f requested fields are completed and make sense. No scientific analysis will be done by innorealize.com

What will my company have to do if a solution is selected as a winner?

Your company will be requested to:

  • Pay the award amount if a solution is chosen
  • Respect the IP and legal conditions set up in the Terms of use and in the Specific Challenge Agreement
  • Not use any information from non-winner solutions

How much will my company have to pay for your service?

There are three options:

  • In case that the company does not receive any solution, innorealize.com will not charge any fee to the company
  • If the company receives solutions but no one is selected as a winner, innorealize will charge 99 euros plus taxes (21% VAT) to the company
  • If the company selects one winner solution, it will not be charged with any other fees next to the award

Can any company launch challenges?

Absolutely, since Challenges can potentially meet needs both from SMEs and large companies.

My company is a Small and Medium Enterprise. How can the challenges be useful for us?

SMEs can take benefit from innorealize.com by reaching a worldwide scientist network. This helps reducing costs related to innovation projects, especially in the initial stages of the project.

1.4 PRICING

1.4.1 Solvers

How much does the challenge service cost for solvers?

The solutions submission is free. You will not be charged if your solution is not selected as a winner.

What if I submit a winner solution?

You should be aware about the fact that the award amount will be netted from innorealize`s fees and applicable taxes.

See this example:

A challenge released with a total award amount of 1.000 € received a winner solution sent by a solver resident in Spain for fiscal purposes. In this case, the funds to be transferred to the solver/s will be calculated as follows:

What are the innorealize’s fees on the award amount?

There are three options:

  • For those award amounts between 0 to 100.000 euros innorealize’s fee will be up to 10%
  • For those amounts between 100.001 and 500.000 euros innorealize’s fee will be up to 7%
  • For those amounts over 500.001 euros innorealize’s fee will be up to 5%

Are there any other charges for the solver next to innnorealize`s fee?

Solvers should be aware that applicable taxes can also be netted from the award amount.

How much would taxes charges be?

It depends on the solver’s fiscal residency. For those residents in Spain it would be up to 21%. We will previously inform the solver in each case.

Are you going to confirm in advance the netted amount I will receive?

Innorealize.com will send a detailed liquidation of the net amount that will be transferred to the solvers. This explanation will include the amounts set aside in order to comply with the tax regulations and the fees of the service. See IP Policy section 2.7

1.4.2 Companies

How much does the challenge service cost for companies?

There are three options:

  • In case that the company does not receive any solutions, innorealize.com will not charge any fee to the company.
  • If the company receives solutions but no one is selected as a winner, innorealize will charge 99 euros plus taxes (21% VAT) to the company
  • If the company selects one winner solution, it will not be charged with any other fees next to the award

Will my company have to pay anything if we do not receive solutions?

Absolutely not.

What if my company receives solutions but we do not select any of them?

You will be charged 99 euros plus taxes (21% VAT) for having used our platform.

Do we have to pay anything if the solutions are senseless?

You will not be charged if solutions do not meet the minimal criteria. Innorealize.com will check all received solutions against these minimal criteria (solutions information must be complete and must make sense).

What does my company have to pay for a chosen solution?

The company will not be required to pay anything else than the amount of the award. Innorealize´s fees and taxes will be set aside from this amount before the payment to the solver.

1.5 IP ISSUES

Who sets up the IP conditions of each challenge?

Companies can establish their own IP conditions in each challenge published in www.innorealize.com.

What would those IP conditions be?

There are three options for those solutions selected as winners, depending on the type of challenges:

  • Ideation challenges: The solver will be requested to grant the Challenger with a royalty free, perpetual and non exclusive license to use any information of the solution.
  • Pre-competitive challenges: The Challenger will require solvers to grant their exclusive Intellectual Property (IP) rights. If exclusive IP cannot be transferred by the Solver, the Challenger could consider a licensing agreement for a partial award.
  • Special conditions set up by the company: The Challenge can establish its own IP rules in the Challenge Specific Agreement. Innorealize will check that those conditions comply with the Terms of Use.

So, I am company. Can I set up any IP conditions?

You definitely can. Nevertheless companies are deemed to balance its IP demands with the total award amount offered.

I am company. What can happen if the IP conditions are not balanced with the award amount?

If that is the case, it is unlikely that you company will receive any solution from the solvers

Who will be bound by these conditions?

The rules included by the company in the challenge will be binding for all solvers that may submit solutions to the challenge. All solvers need to explicitly accept the challenge conditions before they are allowed to submit a solution.

What if I am a solver and I do not like the IP conditions of a challenge?

Solvers are deemed to read carefully the Terms of Use and the Challenge Specific Conditions before submitting solutions. Solver’s discretion is advised to decide whether it is worthy or not to submit solutions.

What if a company rejects solutions but later adopts what has been proposed in the solutions?

Innorealize contractually binds solvers with companies through a legal agreement. Any irregular activity that may derive from a malicious use of Innorealize services will have to be handled through the established legal channels.

What is an innovation area?

Innorealize offers subscription based rooms where companies can publish and promote their own innovation related challenges.

Why should my company be interested in an innovation area?

Innovation areas can help your organization in:

  • Settig up a permanent channel between your company and our scientist network
  • As long as solvers are aware of your innovation area, they are likely to be informed about your innovation needs and the probability to obtain more suitable and high quality solutions becomes higher.
  • Promoting your innovation efforts
  • Enjoying special fees conditions for companies and solvers

  • No limit of challenges for my company
  • Innorealize’s fees are lower than the ones applicable for challenges

1.7 LEGAL STUFF

What are the legal conditions of a challenge?

All challenges must comply with the Terms of use of this website. Furthermore, each challenge conditions will be explicitly stated in the Challenge Specific Agreement (CSA).

Who is required to be bound by the legal conditions?

Both companies and solvers are required to accept the Term of Use and the Challenge Specific Agreement (CSA) before releasing a challenge or submitting a solution.

May my company launch a challenge without having set up the Terms of Use?

Absolutely not. Challenge cannot be posted without the Terms of Use acceptance and the approval of the CSA.

May I submit solutions without accepting the Term of Use and the CSA?

Absolutely not. In the solutions application you will be required to accept both the Terms of Use and the CSA.

What is a Challenge Specific Agreement (CSA)?

It is a legal document where the conditions of a challenge are stated. Innorealize`s will check that the CSAs comply with the Term of Use of innorealize.com website.

Who defines the Challenge Specific Agreement?

The company which launches a challenge (The Challenger).

Is there any Challenge Specific Agreement model that my company can use?

Innorealize has designed two CSA models, one for each type of challenges (ideation and precompetitive).

Where do I find a Challenge Specific Agreement model?

The company can opt in its Company Area to use a CSAs designed by innorealize.com or to use its own CSA.

1.8 DEFINITIONS

  • The Challenger: Company which has previously accepted the terms of use of the website www.innorealize.com and has published a challenge.
  • The solver: Any user of the www.innorealize.com that has previously accepted the terms of use and has submitted any information in response of a challenger’s requests.
  • Winner/Selected solution: Any information submitted by a solver in response of a Challenge published in www.innorealize.com that has been chosen by a Challenger with the aim of use that information for its further developments or with exploitation interests.
  • Proposed Solution/Solution Data refers to data, information, details, images (other than images taken from the www.innnorealize.com repository), files, designs, which are submitted as an answer to a Challenge. This includes data which is hosted at other sites but linked or referred to as part of the answer / solution.
  • User Profile Data refers to all information filled in by you, either while signing up at eOpenFundingServicios de Gestión de la Innnovación SL or in the Profile section of the Website
